Dec 28th 2025

Greetings Area 25 and Happy New Year!

First, thank you Bridget for your service to the Area these past two years, your leadership and
example of what a trusted servant is all about is truly appreciated. Bridget started this
Delegate’s Corner at the beginning of her rotation, and will be continued as a way for your
Delegate to help keep you – the fellowship – informed.

It is humbling and exciting to serve as Panel 76 Delegate for Area 25. In laymen’s terms; “Panel
76” for “Area 25” is representing the State of Kansas at the 76 th General Service Conference
since the first one took place in 1951. It will be in New York City in 2026, and again in 2027.
I am looking forward to meeting many of you at the Area Assembly in January. If you’re new
there and I miss you, please be sure to stop me and say “hi”, because at the end of the day, I’m
just a plain ol’ alcoholic like you. Following the Assembly, the Conference final Agenda items
and background material will be sent to me after the Board meets in February. They will be
uploaded to the website with links to them under the Delegate Corner menu. I will also email
these to the DCM’s in the Area to forward to their District GSR’s. My General Service
Conference Committee is Policy and Admissions. There is usually an enormous amount of
material, therefore it is suggested to look at the agenda items and the background on them you
are most concerned with. Alternate Delegate Melissa B. will be Chairing the pre-conference
portion of Area Committee Meeting in April. The A.A. Service Manual (page 32) states
“Considering the role that delegates play in the Conference, it should come as no surprise that
much will be asked of them in time and effort. Delegates are charged with understanding the
experiences, viewpoints and group conscience of their areas (emphasis mine), while assuming
responsibility for the U.S./Canada Conference as a whole” and they should “Attend the annual
Conference meeting fully prepared.” All members of the Fellowship, especially DCM’s and
GSR’s, are encouraged and welcome to attend the pre-conference meeting and supply
feedback; the ratio of members expressing your viewpoints is directly proportional to your
Delegate having a fully informed group conscience at the General Service Conference. After the
Conference, I will be available to give a report out of my experience there to your Districts and
Groups. Melissa and I will also be attending the Southwest Region Delegate Assembly in March
to better prepare for the Conference.

In a separate menu item from this page, we’ll upload communications from the General Service
Office (GSO) as well as any other information relevant to the Fellowship.

It is truly an honor and privilege to serve, I look forward to hearing from you. Please feel free to
reach me through the Area website contact page or directly by emailing delegate@ks-aa.org.

With gratitude,
Ken S.
